La Mar de Músicas - July

La Mar de Músicas is a festival that is held in July. Every year a country is chosen to represent its music. In addition, there are other activities that revolve around this invited country covering all the aspects of its culture: photography, visual arts, cinema, literature, and so on.

The festival is made up of concerts which are usually held at the Parque Torres Auditorium, a setting located on a hill from where you can see the port, the archeological ruins of the Roman Theatre and the city, a privileged watch tower on the shores of the Mediterranean.

In 1998, La Mar de Músicas was named partner of the “European Forum of Worldwide Music”, a forum which identifies the main European festivals. It is one of the best festivals of World Music in Europe. The opinion of specialized critics as well as the public’s participation, which was over 60,000 spectators in the last event, demonstrates this.
